About the Speaker:
Marty Bergland is a life long gardener specializing in growing herbs, peppers and heirloom tomatoes. She has been a Master Gardener since 1999 and is co-owner of Heirloom House in Watertown, MN. Marty is a frequent speaker for the Minnesota Horticulture State Society and is the co-author of Grow, Harvest, Eat.

About the Topic:
Don’t have a greenhouse? Marty will walk through a number of methods for seed starting from winter sowing to starting flowers, vegetables and herbs indoors. She will teach simple methods of plant propagating including starting new plants from cuttings using a Forsythe Pot.
Marty will share her experience with how to select suitable plants and drying techniques for seed saving, the right time to harvest and the proper way to store seeds from your garden. She will discuss the differences in selecting seeds from heirloom, open – pollinated and hybrid varieties. |
